The Final Post

Over the past 8/9 weeks I have been attempting to stay off of social media. My goal was to do this and see how my focus and mental health were at the end of my time off of social media. In the end I made it so that my goal would be to stay off of social media on my phone.   It has definitely been an up and down process. At times it went really well and others not at all. At the start I tired to replace social media by doing burpees, pushups or sit ups each time I felt like looking at my phone. This only worked for a while as if I was out for a walk or not at home it became hard to do pushups, sit-ups or burpees in a random public place.  My real challenge came when I realized that one of the sports I follow only posts its news and information on social media sources this meant in order for me to follow what was happening in the semifinals I had to go on social media so the challenge was scraped around the 6th/7th week.  I would like to try this again for the mo...

Week 6

This week has been much better. I have been leaving my phone and going outside a lot more. I think it is helping a lot that the weather is nice and time on the computer is much less then in previous weeks. Over the past week I have been doing a lot of walking/hiking with Julia and Carwyn on the York Region Forest Trails. We even got a chance to go canoeing one day.  I have noticed that the more time I am out in a quiet place that calmer and clear my brain is. I am going to try and add more of these hikes as I move forward into the last few weeks of our passion project.

Week 4 and 5

I decided to do this post for two weeks for a couple of reasons. 1. The last two weeks have been a bit of a burr with report card writing and 2 I forgot to do a post on week 5. Needles to say being on the computer a lot and checking in on how hockey has been going for the leafs (Not Well) has lead me to be distracted by Social Media A LOT! My hope is now that the leafs are out of the playoffs again is that I will have less of a reason to check what is going on on my phone.
